New Horticulture Program!
Branch Out is a FREE program, delivered by Greenlife Industry Victoria, designed to give students hands-on experiences and insights into the diverse career pathways the horticulture industry offers, inspiring the next generation to consider a rewarding future in the industry.
Branch Out will:
Deliver immersive learning experiences for Victorian secondary students (Years 7–10, adaptable to Years 11–12).
Provide in-class facilitation and an incursion led by industry experts.
Offer an excursion/immersive to a horticultural business.
Raise awareness among teachers and students about modern horticultural careers.
Participating schools will be provided:
Lesson Plans - There is an option of 4 engaging topics to choose from, each with 5 Victorian-curriculum aligned unit lesson plans containing everything required to teach students about:
Botany Basics
The World of Photosynthesis
Importance of Soila
Plant Reproduction
Teachers will be provided with support during the planning and delivery of these units of learning. Click here to see an overview of the lesson plans.
Incursion - A free NGIV-facilitated incursion as part of the lesson plans
Excursion - A free NGIV-facilitated excursion/immersion to visit a local horticulture business or project.
