Overview
The core focus of LLENs is the creation and the further development of sustainable relationships and partnerships and brokering of initiatives between local education providers, industry and community. The purpose of these partnerships is t
- expand education and training opportunities and coordinated support on offer at the local level for young people (particularly those disengaged or most at risk of disengagement from education and training), with a link to local employment and skill needs;
- provide a local platform for implementing, integrating and linking State Government initiatives including Managed Individual Pathways (MIPS), Blue Print for Government Schools, School Based New Apprenticeships (SBNAs), Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) and Commonwealth initiatives that include Youth Pathways Program (YPP), and the local Community Partnerships (LCPs);
- provide integrated planning which identifies skill shortages gaps and articulates priorities and strategies; and
- provide advice on state-wide policy and program issues to improve local service delivery
