Meet the Staff at OELLEN
OELLEN Executive Officer – Fiona Purcell
Fiona has been the Executive Officer of the Outer Eastern Local Learning and Employment Network (OELLEN) since it was established in 2002. She has had considerable experience working with local schools, TAFE, business and industry and community groups and has developed a wide range of partnerships to improve the education and career pathway options for young people in the outer east. Fiona also also brings to the position a wealth of experience in Secondary education, TAFE and education consultancy with a focus on transition from school to work.
Partnership Broker – Cherie Messerle
Cherie has been a member of the OELLEN team since 2008. Prior to this she worked closely with schools and educators as a Curriculum Consultant and School Development Officer with DEECD. She brings many years experience in education, management, business and youth work to the Partnership Broker role.
Partnership Broker - Trevor Bayley
Trevor joined the OELLEN team in 2010 and has an extensive background in working with young people across the welfare, education and community sectors.
Partnership Broker - Bianca Spence
Bianca joined the OELLEN team in 2009 and has worked in education both locally and in Asia. Much of her work has been with newly arrived young people.
Partnership Broker – Jenni King
Jenni brings a breadth of experience to the team. Her education experience includes many years of teaching in schools, TAFE and ACE as well as developing policy and introducing initiatives on youth transitions in the DEECD Central and Southern Regional offices for the past 12 years. Jenni has also worked in industry and other government funded initiatives as well as privately consulting.
Workplace Learning Coordinators Program Project Officer – Kaz Erbs
Kaz joined the OELLEN staff in 2010 and brings her experience in training, employment services and community development to the team.
Workplace Learning Coordinators Program Project Officer – Marian Schnuriger
Marian has taught for over 25 years and in the last 10 years worked as Careers Manager for a local government school. She acted as the Communications Officer of the Mullum Vet cluster and has developed pathways & marketing tools for Wirl Media and Career Analysts.
Administration – Ana Matic
Ana commenced as a Trainee in her ‘gap’ year in 2009 having successfully completed her VCE. She is currently working part-time while studying at Deakin University.
Administration – Courtney Wirth
Courtney commenced early 2011 and successfully completed her School Based Apprenticeship while studying VCAL. She is currently working part time.
Administration – Stacey Smith
Stacey joined OELLEN in 2011 as a part time administration assistant while taking a year off from Tertiary study.
