OELLEN

The Outer Eastern Local Learning and Employment Network (OELLEN) is a local, community-based and formally incorporated association which aims to improve education, training and employment outcomes for young people (10-19 year olds) in the cities of Maroondah, Knox and the Shire of Yarra Ranges. A key aim is to increase the number of young people completing year 12 or the equivalent.

The focus of OELLEN is the creation and development of sustainable relationships and partnerships and brokering of initiatives between local education providers, industry and community. The aim of these partnerships is to:

* Expand local education and training opportunities
* Identify local skill shortages and employment opportunities for young people
* Ensure young people are assisted to make a successful transition from school to further education, training or employment.
* Support measurable improvement to outcomes achieved by young people
